Mr. Robert P. Laughery passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Caretel Inns of Brighton. He was born September 28, 1929 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania the only child of Ralph Page and Grace (Anderson) Laughery. On May 14, 1955 he was married to Elizabeth Bentley in Toledo, Ohio moving to Howell from Fraser, Michigan in 1983. Mrs. Laughery proceeded him in death on June 12, 2013. Mr. Laughery proudly served his country during World War II with the U. S. Army Air Force. He was a member of the Howell Gun Club. He enjoyed traveling the country with his family in his travel trailer. Mr. Laughery was a fan of playing games – any games, but especially cards. He was an avid fisherman. He truly enjoyed his desserts making his sweet tooth legendary. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren as “Pap Pap”. Prior to his retirement in 1992 he had been employed by General Motors, Milford Proving Grounds as a skilled tradesman for 38 years. Mr. Laughery was the loving father of Robert Page (Terri) Laughery, Jr., Barbara (Mark) Binkley and Thomas A. Laughery. Fond grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He will be missed by his 4-legged companion; Lola. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6 – 8 P.M. at the Keehn Funeral Home, 706 W. Main St., Brighton, MI. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Howell. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
